Hello,
My wife and I are looking at buying some property. On it, the owner's deceased husband left his tractor and she's interested it selling it with the property. It is a Leyland 344 in good overall condition. I can't seem to find any info on the internet about this tractor. Can someone tell me what the HP rating is on these??? Any other info, especially value (w/bush hog and sickle bar mower) would be greatly appreciated. SER# 44N/30272x/Z

Thanks,
Mike

55 hp is right, if its in good shape, with the attachments, value about 5500.00, no more though. They are a good machine, start great, and run very economical. Parts are still plenty available, if you need anything, I sell parts and repair them.

I have lost the clutch in my unit and now think I either need someone to service it or to sell the entire thing. Any leads??

Hallo Mike. Your tractor was made at Bathgate Scotland here in the UK from 1970 to 1972. It has a Leyland four cylinder 55hp diesel engine. Good reliable tractors with no fancy gimmicks to go wrong also good starting engines. MJ

Hello Hannes.
It might be worthwhile to have a look at the link below. If there is a club in your area, then they might be able to point you in the right direction for spare parts. There is also a messageboard which might also answer your question.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Best of luck (and keep us posted)
Cheers, JV.
