I am looking for any information anyone may have about a "Motox" tractor built in Illinois or Indiana in 1918, 1919, or 1920. Any information, literature, stories (true ones only, please), or information leading to a surviving example would be very much appreciated. Anybody ever heard of it?

Thanks,

Steve in Indiana

I know the factory was in Wabash, on Hwy 13, north side of town. Still has the name on the front of the building.

Browsing, saw your "Motox" post: my 1924 piston catalog (roughly 1917/18-23) shows:
MOTEX 1921(no model shown) Buda HTU engine;
MOTEX 1921(no model shown) Buda YTU engine; (no other Motex listing, nothing on Plano;
Wabash(no year shown)"model" col sez "Motex"; Buda
HTU...Engine Section lists HTU 1917-23,YTU 15-23. Fairly popular engines, but all that looked familiar were 23 KW"s: Mod KS(21/2T)=HTU and Mod L(31/2T)=YTU, AND a Case(no year/mod) the HTU.
Don"t have Dig camera; cheapest Xerox 10 cts pge; if you want to go $2-3 will try copying (small print, prob 25 pgs or so); just send adds.
