I have an "82 510, and it has been a very stout tractor. It has a front end loader, and about the only thing I can complain about is that the Hydraulic pump doesn"t flow enough and the loader is slow. ( Does anybody know if there is a larger pump available?) Other than that, it starts every time I need it, and sometimes it will go months without use, and start right up. Yup, it"ll leak a little. I put cardboard under mine. It"s not too bad.

Yes there are larger gpm pumps available from you Long dealer. I would have to check and see if they are available form aftermarkets sources.

The old longs like the one you mention were pretty dependable but were prone to some bad leakage problems. If you don't mind the leaks, they tough tractors.

Should the fluid level in the transmission be checked hot/cold, running/off?
