270 has more head bolts as the 384 liked to blow head gaskets

Try this site, there is a lot of knowledge for that kind of tractor over there.
Link

But I have one question for you, I have a 384 and am wondering about the location of the PTO on your 270, mine sits pretty high above the draught bar. I'm pretty sure 4/98 is an engine model number.

Only dfference is the year manufactured, as far as I know. 384s were produced in early 70s followed by 270 in early-mid 70s. Mechanically identical as far as I remember - the farm I grew up working on had one of each and they were identical in all respects that I know about.

Monty Pitts at Anglo-American can tell you for sure. The 384 manual should cover everything you need for routine maintenance.
