i am looking for info on the hesston cotton picker or stripper, i saw a photo of one dumping in a cotton trailer once, but i didnt see the front so i dont know if it was a stripper or a picker. does anyone know
about these..

You may try going to hesston.com and see if they can hook you up with some of the info that you are looking for. In the early 80's I was working running cotton strippers. We ran IH's, but I knew of and saw quite a few of the Hesston machines.

I think Hesston only made cotton strippers. They were the first in my area to offer brush units(early 1960's). They sold tractor mounted and selfpropelled models.

hesston made in strippers.and how many years?

I don''t think Hesston ever built a picker. They got into the stripper by buying out a small mfg. in the lower Rio-Grand valley called Pioneer. Pioneer had developed the brush type stripper. Hesston first built tractor mounted and then a self propelled. They were very popular on the south plains of Texas which was and still is the center of cotton stripper use. You can still find one occasionaly in some bodies junk pile. I know of none in use however.
