Bob, Yes, I just checked my email and your information on the Wisconsin tractor is there - for which I thank you, "hugely". The photo included with the article is quite like the one image that I still hold in my memory from so many years ago. I can still see that tractor sitting on the flatbed of that large truck on the day they hauled it away and one of the highlights of that image was of those large, spoked, rear wheels which your photo prominently shows. Your article also lists 3 different engine sizes and, of course, I have no way of knowing, at this point, which one we had but I feel quite confident, now, that the tractor we had was one of those 600 units that were built in Sauk City, Wisconsin. I also remember two other things about that tractor. We called her "Big Mary" and the engine had "ports" down on the left-hand side of the crank case with covers that could be opened and removed by loosening a turn-screw mechanism. I remember this, quite specifically, because, one time, being a 6 to 8-year-old kid, I uncrewed one of those fastening mechanisms and took one of those port covers off and then couldn't get it back on. I can still recall worrying about the fact that rain might get into the engine and so I decided it was best to, simply, "fess up" and tell Pa what I'd done. I can't, specifically, remember his reaction after so many years but I guess he must not have been too upset. Dumb kids!! Thanks again for the info. Joe.
