"dimensions of the new sleeved dont match up to the dimensions of the old pistons "

What is the problem? The Id of the sleeves to small? I am not sure if the 610 used to different sizes or not some used a 95mm and others used a 105mm they are identified by the letter A stamped on the piston for the 95mm and B for the 105mm at any rated the sleeves need to be installed then bored to size.

Well i"ll start here...The O.D. of the piston is 3.985 and the I.D. of the new sleeves are 3.812....I sholdn"t have to bore out .170+ thousandths should I? This is the dimension that the distributor gave me for the new ones. Could this be some sort of Fiat engine? The codes on the block are as follows: D121.050 Ser#004503, Code#121058 That is all I have to go on. Thank You!

If it is UTB, sold as a Long, it's manufactured in Romania. It was a technology transfer from Fiat. They are using Fiat molds for most of the parts, but it's not Fiat. Most Fiat sleeves come unfinished, so I suspect the same for your Long engine.

All Long/UTB sleeves must be bored and honed to fit the pistons.
