after running a int cub for 20 years and then an 8n for 3 years, i purchased a 445 long 72 model from a 82 yr old retiring farmer... i am in shock at how good the tractor is and drives,,,there is no way to tell someone the differance in performance...

i drove it home 6 miles and then my tractor buddy came and got the glow plug working, adjusted the clutch pedal, tightened front spindle, checked fluids, spread the wheels out and hooked to brush hog,,,it drives great!!!! worst news,i need to replace the hydraulic fluid.

My deer lease partner and I just bought a Long 350 with grader, mower and stinger/lift bar. It came with a new hood and one new fender. It is great. We bought new airplane tires (www.noflats.com) to replace aging fronts. It has brand new rears. What a hog! Oh, new Interstate battery also. I am hooked on tractors!!

Marv who posts here might have the manuals available. SSB tractor has some Long manuals. Most of the parts and service for the Long 350/360/460 will be the same as the 445.

I do not have a link to post, but by posting Long 360 on the Google search engine, I found a source for parts catalog for my 360. Already had a service manual. In fact, the 445, 350 and 360 service manual is combined. Adjusting the brakes is much better following the process outlined in the manual. Get an owner's manual also.

No problem to change fluid. If I remember right there are 2 drain plugs to drain it. One extra note since this is your first Long. Be sure and check the finals fluid level. You have one on each wheel and the level plug is the 7/8 inch hex plug to the rear on the inside of the housing. Put 90wt or heavier gear grease in these compartments. Use universal trans hyd. fluid in the transmission and rear end. You also have a hydraulic filter screen located on the right side of the engine inside a round tube held in with two bolts.
