I mowed with this 445 for 20 min. (It sat for 3 years before i bought it) shut it down started it back up and the hydraulics would not work! the oil looked like milk so I drained it , filled up with new and still no hyd.I checked the Magnetic filter it looked clean. I loosened one of the lines and no fluid came out?? Any ideas on what to look for. 1978 445 3cyl.Diesel 1600 hours with a Front loader does anyone know its value? Thanks In Advance

I have a 445 4x4 that does the same thing every now and then. Be patient, it always comes back. I find that it takes very little contaminated fluid to lose hyd pressure, and/or perhaps it's the valve sticking but it should self bleed any air out on it's own. I paid $2K for mine ten years ago and wouldn't sell it for a penny less. I have a shop manual if you need anything scanned, etc. Enjoy!

Geo has posted here about a valve that sticks and causes this condition. The valve is under a big nut under the seat of the tractor. Says there is a spring there also. Clean it all and reassemble as original. I have not done this personally. You do know the hydraulic oil is shared with the transmission and it holds maybe 6 gallons. There may be dipstick near the gearshift lever for checking the level.

You may have lost prime in the pump when you drained the oil. What I do it take the pressure line off the pump and put a little oil in it then crank the motor over until it pumps then reinstall the line
