You probably have a circuit breaker beetween the ignition switch and the battery. After things warm up, the breaker trips, and there's no "go" until it cools enough to reset. Why does it trip? The coil and condensor are UNLIKELY to short bad enough to trip the breaker. They CAN short, but in this case, the engine would just stop, but the starter would still work, and crank the engine when you turn the key. The breaker may trip from corroded connections right at the breaker that heat up, and actually overheat the breaker. Locate the breaker, clean the connections, and replace the breaker, if necessary. The breaker may be tripping because of a bare wire near the engine or exhaust that shorts out. The other likely cause is a bad electric mower clutch, if your unit uses one. The electromagnetic coil fails, and draws too much current, tripping the breaker. Replacement of the clutch coil will be needed. (How long does the engine run if you do not have the mower engaged?) This should help narrow down the problem.
