I'm going to use an electric temp. gauge. There are 2 terminals on the back. One wire goes to a hot source, and the other to the sender. How how I know which terminal on the back is goes to where? Does it matter? Thanks.

Usually, they are labeled, or did a paper tag fall off yours?

Are there any markings at all?

I = Ignition (power)

S = Sender

For gauge to function, metal housing must be grounded.
