There is a Long Model A coming up for auction at Fenwood, Sakatchewan, Canada on June 26th, 2004. The sale bill says,"Long Model A 2wd tractor, gas, narrow front, 11X38 tires, PTO, s/n 4901121". Sale bill says internet bidding available. Ray

As a Long dealer My dad and I just have to have one. So we found one. We started restoring a while ago but just been to busy to finish it.This tractor has a wide front on it.When we had the radiator off we seen that a company sent the whole front end to Long Man. It was marked in black lettering. Yet Long has no record of any tractors being sold with a wide front.

About 6-7 years ago we was talking with the Long Service manager he said other than the motor they could make that tractor today. They have all the old casting in a warehouse, now whether that is true or no I don't know but he has been there for a really long time so he should know

Long didn't make many model A tractors. I only know of a handful. We have 2. The one Larry mentions at Eastern Shore Threshermen show is ours. They were both built in 1948, 18 serial numbers apart, but were bought years apart and from different places. The serial numbers on the ones I've seen are only a hundred or so apart. I think they only made 300 or so and only in 1948 and 1949. The first two digits of the serial number is the year, then month, then number. One of ours is #481218 - 1948, December, 18th tractor, when they got up to 100 they added a digit (ex. #4812100). They show up at auctions once in a while, there was one on e-bay not too long ago. I don't remember it getting a bid. Just keep looking. Jason, what's your serial number? John Tichenor has a listing of existing Long tractors. Is yours registered with him? If not, e-mail me and I'll send you his info: stant@threshermen.org. Last I heard from him, he didn't have many on the list.

No it is not registered with anyone. Where would aI go to see such information? I will have to look and see what the serial number is I am not sure what it is off hand. I would love to finish it someday But I just can't find enough time to do it.

The Long info is not online. If you can't e-mail me, post your serial number and the state you're from on here and I'll send it in for you. I don't want to post someone else's name and address.
