I also bought a Hough Payloader a few months ago. It is a model HF with the Hercules 6 cyl. engine, a 1952 or 53 model, I have been trying to collect sales literature and manuals on it so that I can restore it. I have`nt been able to find out the original color, seems most literature is not in color. I have made some contacts on www.bigtoy.com with other owners. Would appreciate any help I can get and would be glad to give any help that I can. I would like to see someone set up an owners web site! Thanks John Howell

This is the third time I've typed a reply, and when I go back to edit it, it's gone. 'Bout enough of that junk! I have a Hough HA, which I bought last year and have been working on to restore/convert to a forklift. Not had much time, so it's going slow. HA has a 4-cyl Waukesha, so if your's has a 6-cyl Hercules, I suspect it's quite a bit bigger than the HA. Hough built lots of heavy-duty payloaders, and was bought by International I think in the late fifty's or early sixties. Forgot some of what I found out about them already. The HA has a Vickers vane pump, which I was able to get parts for. Found some stock-sized bronze bushings at McMaster-Carr. I found a parts book on e-bay, and also have an operator's manual for the Hough HH. If you search the archives here, you can find a little info. I've searched the web, and found almost nothing as far as collectors, restorers, etc. It's good to see that someone besides me has a defective mind that causes them to bring home junky stuff to work on! Good luck.

I have a 4 wheel drive HU loader with a broken right brake line. I am looking for a part number or location of a replacement. Any ideas?

If the brake line that is broken are rubber by the wheels and anything like a model HH then you should be able to have one or more made at a hydralics repair shop.If the are steel then maybe a auto parts store has generic length brake lines that can be modified to fit. ie cut to length and have your fittings installed and double flared as needed. If your master cylinder is bad, almost any single master cylinder {older carsor pick ups could be converted to fit the mounting bracket.

I have a Hough payloader model HH with a 6cyl gas engine. I want to sell it. I have the operators manual and parts lists/catalogs for it. It runs great but I don't use it. If your looking for parts, I have had a hard time finding them too.
