My father has a cockshutt 20 with a 3 point hitch. When you lower the 3 point hitch,it drop's like a stone. You can't lower it slowly.I have a manual and I've had the hydraulic's apart twice but can't solve the problem.Any advice on how to fix the hydraulic's on my father cockshutt 20.
Thank you,Lonnie

I have had the hydraulic unit apart and there are no broken orings or springs. The 3point hitch will drop even the tractor is not running.I think that I will get a new kit and rebuild the hydraulic unit and see if that will solve my problem. Thanks for the help,Lonnie

Have you rebuilt the valve with new springs and orings? Off the top of my head I would guess you have a broken spring in the valve that just allows oil to push valve open with no resistance. It could be a blown O-Ring but they usually bleed down very quickly but not fall down as you put it. I usually have these kits and parts to rebuild them but am out right now. If you drop down a couple post you will see Phil Hiesey and he most likely has them in stock and ready to ship. One other question does the 3 point only do this when moving lever into down position or will it not stay in the up at all? Irv
