I have a question about an 88 or super 88 not sure what year. Numbers from tag: 18-0252 and the serial number is 26466-801 what year is it? It is all green with yellow rounded type grill. Gas 6 cylinder, model "88" on front casting. Has green wheels, rear wheel disks are cast, not stamped steel, front tricycle wheels look like cast centers. Anything to look close at? Not running, barn kept, turns over freely. Has not been run for several years. Old gas smell in tank, old bad 6 volt battery. Looks like a straight original (at least to me) has weathered rubber with 30-40% tread. No welds, or cracks that I can find, no hydraulics, drawbar holes not egg shaped, but round as new. Question is what year, ball park value? Thanks in advance.

J gave you the year but it should have hyds unless some one removed them or didn't order them but I think they where standard for a 1955 S88. If it turns over it should be just a new battery and tune up/carb rebuild to make it run. In that shape probable $300-500 tops as far as valve. I know if it where close to me I would love to have another 1955 S88 I know I love the one I already have and would love another one. See pictures of mine in the web page.

It is a 1955 Super 88. Super 88 is a good tractor. Gas models very trouble free. Wheels should be green, No idea on value. J.

Don't have my serial number book right in front of me,but the super will have a different frame than the 88. Super frame will be flat in front and have two flat pads on each side with threaded bolt holes in them. Straight 88 only has two large holes for cultivator pipes. Also,if it has louvered side panels over the engine,it's a straight 88 for sure.
