Well the big item is the longer stroke crank. Find one out of a failed 310 diesel. You will also need the 310 gas pistons. Send me a phone number too. J.(no there is no snow)

283 gas was used in the 1800c with 8.5 to 1 comp.The 1850 used the 310.

Gas or diesel? Turbo or naturally aspirated? Do you know out of which tractor it came? If it came out of an Oliver tractor, it's an Oliver engine. Waukesha made their own engines for a variety of other applications as well; they are not one in the same.

Are you talking gas, Propane or diesel engines here? Do you have casting number. If diesel do you have a pump model number?

I just talk to the person that I bought the engine from and he was a Oliver Dealer in Ohio. He tell me that they put 310 in all 1800C tractors in 1964 and he sold it to me as a 310. I drove 2800 mile to get it would really like to get the right information as to wanting to have correct information. Do you know the compression on the 283 & 310 that is in good shape maybe that will help. Thanks for your help

He told you a story. The only 310 gas engines in 1964 were in the new in the fall of 1964 1850 gas tractors. All 1800 diesels in 1964 did have a 310. By the wqay bare engine horse power for the 1800 such as you have was 98.

I sure appreciate your help. You make more sence than he does. Is the block the same as a 310 if so what components do I need to get to make this a 310. This motor that I have has dish pistons and each cylinder has 175lb per cyclinder pressure can I get flat top pistons same bore and mill the head to improve the power. Let me know what I can do you have been a big help. thanks again!! Waco

Well PART of the reason the dish is in the piston was to LOWER the compression ratio. What kind of a puller are you trying to build. Will they let you pull with a 12 port head in an 88, someplaces around here they do not. The 310 engines have a 3/8 inch longer stroke. Have you though of offset grinding the crankshaft.

J, not for sure what you are talking about when you say an 88. This is an old 1850 oliver with out a motor I am trying to put the motor size and hp that came out of it that was in it originaly that is why I ask about the block and now I understand I have a 283 with less hp than a 310. Guess you are getting a lot of snow by now hope your Thanksgiving was a good one. Thanks Waco
