I have a Oliver RC 80 1938 model.Recently I saw an old Huber with the same engine. Now I understand that waukeshaw may have made these engines. My question is my engine made by oliver or Waukeshaw which is also the same and how can I tell. Thanks

They may or may not be identical. Oliver would have made the castings and Waukesha would have built the engines. The engine specs may be slghtly diffrent for Oliver. Who made the castings for the Waukesha engines? No idea, - possibly Oliver?

Thanks RAB, You may be correct. Who made the castings may be
the question. Recently I saw a wanted add in an a
Antique Power magazine which stated that certain Huber,Waukeshaw, and Oliver 80 manifolds were the same. Thanks again. Rob

The 80 KD used a VIK Waukesha engine, which was the same as the one used in the Huber. The block was essentially the same as were the hang on components. Oliver did cast a different oil pan. Contrary to what most think, Oliver did NOT cast all of their engine blocks. There were 20 different foundries, most around the Waukesha area, that cast the blocks. According to Waukesha, using one foundry would be like putting all your eggs in one basket. They used several different foundries to make sure there was a steady stream of product into the plant. All of their suppliers were closely monitored to assure the best castings. Most of those suppliers used a certain insignia or logo cast into the block to help identify the source. The VIM engine was used in the 80 gas and was basically the same engine as the VIK other than bore or stroke.

SherryS, Thank you for the information. That completes the answer to my question.I had wondered why the Huber and Oliver engines appeared to be the same
and now I know. Thanks to you and RAB. Rob
