Trying to find a shift pattern plate for an Oliver 60 with a three speed transmission, any ideas? BTW this tractor has 1,2 and R in the top of the pattern and 3 in the lower pattern.

I have gotten shift plate decals from Dumonts in Iowa - website is www.oliverdecals.com and they are the best in the business.

The 60s never had a shift pattern plate, there was just a decal. 4th gear should be in the same position in the lower neutral as 2nd is in the upper neutral.

Is the gear shift handle straigh or curved. Curved handles are 5 speed, straight handles are 4 speed.

The handle is straight, but I can only find 3 forward gears, where is the 4th gear?
Where can I get a shift plate?

I learned to drive on a 1941 Cockshutt 60 Row Crop that Dad bought new. It was a straight stick (4 speed). It's been a long time since I've seen that sweet little tractor, but, as I remember:

Upper Neutral (shove stick up through center of neutral), then:

1st: lower center

2nd: upper right

Reverse: over left and up alongside the steering column.

Shift to HI neutral (pull stick DOWN through center of neutral), then:

3rd: lower center

4th: upper right

Hope this helps, and thanks for helping me see her in my mind's eye and feel her in my hands again.... :-)
