My brother and I went and picked up the 550 today, got a different loader for it too. It had a 1510 loader on it, but the arms and the hood got away from it at the estate sale.

My brother called Wis. tractor parts and they had another 1510 sitting there for $700. We looked at it and the frame was cracked but the arms were good, so we got them down to $600. Picked up the tractor and then went back for the loader. Put the arms on the tractor, and the extra frame in the back of the truck.

Now he can get ahold of the guy with the hood and other 1/2 of the loader, and see about trading him the extra frame for the hood. No pictures yet, I'll snap some this weekend yet though.

Local Agco dealer has one with a 1510. I looked at it Monday when I was there. I was a little disapointed. Looks better from a distance. Guages and a few other things are cobbled.

Congrats. The 550 is a real workhorse for me and the loader is the most valuable piece of equipment on most farms ( I know this has been said before). The 550 Ind was especially built to handle a loader by having the solid front axle. I've had my unit (550 Ind) for 22 yrs and I finally had to replace the front spindle bushings about 4 years ago, and I also put the Pertronix electronic ignition on it with the Flame Thrower coil and it runs and idles just sooooo ooooo much smoother!
From your posts I'd say that this 550 has found a truly loving home at your place. Good luck

Congratulations! It has been said before on this forum, but you now have pound for pound the finest utility tractor ever built. I'm sure in due time you'll have her looking as good as your 1600.
