Well my introduction into oliver tractors and enjoying a recently purchase farm just hit another little speed bump. Friday I had the day off and choose to spend it doing some loader work that is until the fan lost a blade and chucked it thru the radiator. Anyone have a clue who might have a decent used one that could be bought and shipped and a fan to go with it?

Looks like I am looking for a good radiator repair man. Hopefully a core job won't cost more than the tractor is worth. DD

I'd have to look for the slip, but I think I paid around $300-350 to have mine recored for my 1600 gas.

I know a good place to get it recored if you are anywhere in Southern Illinois.

My vote is to recore it. Like AB said, Radiators are neglected and it may be hard to find a good one. If we ever have one fail on our tractors, we always bring it in to recore it, instead of replacement. It's cheaper than a new one, and you're basically getting a new one by the time the shop is done with it.

I'd try your local radiator shops first and price a recore. Radiators tend to be poorly maintained and it may be tough to find a good used one. Remember, you are talking about a 40 year old piece of machinery and the radiator is an integral part of the machine.

For used try:
Smitty's 330-832-9792
Maibach 330-939-4192
O'Brien 712-324-4871
Farmersville 717-354-2150

If you are anywhere near Illinois, there is a man named Ollie Schaefer that parts out Olivers all day long. He is an excellent resource for used parts. I can get you his phone number if you like.

Leader 48 I would like that number if you don't mind sharing it. Even if I don't use him this time having a compiled list of numbers for parts dealers would be handy. Thanks DD
