Does anyone know the approximate weight of a 4-16 semi mount Oliver plow. I dont know the model number but it is a square pipe ( the two channel irons welded together ) which I believe to be mid 1960's or possibly a little later. I think they were the plows just before the automatic resets with the 2 springs on top. I may be in need of some coulters for it, does anyone know of a source for them?

What area are you in? In our area, we can get all of our plow wear parts, including coulters and moldboards from Fleet Farm. Not Farm & Fleet, and not TSC, they are NOT all created equal. If you have a Fleet Farm, they should have what you need.

Otherwise, Agco still carries a full line of parts for Oliver and White plows.

As for weight, I'd have to guess around 3,000. But that is without any actual weight to base it on other than how it felt behind my truck on a car hauler. I bought a model 346 4-16 semi-mounted plow and had to haul it home. I pulled it on a rented car hauler/skid steer trailer behind my 88 F150. Pulled fine but I took it a little slower to be safe.

Oliver offered several different variations, and you could still get spring cushion trip well after they came out with spring automatic reset plows.

I actually have btoh models in the yard right now and hooked onto tractors, I'll have to take a picture some time.
