I'm not here to start a color war...I cut my teeth on '46 RC 60.

But I'd like to ask, what can a 44 do that a Farmall SA can't? Putting rarity aside as a value factor, was it superior in the field and if so, why?

I love the looks of of the 44/440, but the asking prices knock me out of the market.

Thanks.

A 44/440 can sell for $10,000. A Super A can't do that. :)

Yeah....well, none other than P.T. Barnum said, "There's a fool born every minute, and there's one born to take him."

I like green paint and white trim and red wheels...but I'm not $10,000 Stupid. But stupid is, as stupid does..each to his own.

I bet there are alot less 440s then there are of the "A" or Super A. That is another reason for the $10,000 price tags.

Yes sir, I am sure you 110% correct. But, they are not worth that kind of money. I think the 44/440 is a very handsome machine and I'd like to own one. I'd paint it all up and then enjoy getting it dirty in the field! But $10,000 will buy something more practical than a garden tractor. The Allis G is another machine that people have driven the price beyond it's practical value. I'd gladly pay twice the value of a Super A ($1200-$1800) for a 44/440 ($2400-$3600) but not a dime more. They're not twice the tractor and a whole lot harder to get parts for.

Well really its all a matter of opinion. To YOU they are not worth that. Some people think they are. Rarity has its price. I wouldn't pay $100 for a Super A but yes some would gladly go $1200 or more. I could find a good 77 for that money but again its all up to the collector whos buying it.

You wouldn't give me $100 for my Super A? Hell, I've paid more than to see Mickey Mouse.

A super 44/440 has a draft controled 3 point hitch. You can hook up almost any Cat. 1 implement, of any brand, and use it behind one of these tractors.

All the American built International offset tractors, from the cub up to the 140, never had 3 point hitch. This includes the Super A that you are asking about.

AH HA!

I didn't know they had a 3 point hitch. Very interesting.

I am quite familiar with the little Farmalls..I had a Cub and 2 SA's. For cultivating, hard to beat. Beyond that, not much.

Never thought about that. I new they had value because of the low numbers. Thanks for the enlightenment.

A 440 has just been listed on eBay starting at about $4,000. In Alabama, 100 miles south of Nashville.
Good luck.
