Just curious,does a 560 Cockshutt diesel have a Perkins engine? There's one coming up on a sale tomorrow.

Just got back from the sale. It brought $3300. Had a wide front and factory 3pt.Needed a new paint job.

Rick: Yes it does. They all all 270 cubic inch engines, however the first year models (1958) still have the L-4 engine and after that they have the direct injection version. Easy way to tell. Direct injection engines have the CAV rotary model DPA pump, ealy ones have an inline BPE injection pump. They are very good on fuel.

I think it said on the sale bill that that one was a 58. I came close to buying one in Archbold back in 69 when I bought the 77 that I drove home but it had an awful howl in the rear end. I don't know if that's common or not,but it didn't sound good to me.
