What model Cockshutt tractors were built by Fiat?
Where were the "real" Cockshutts built? Thanks

Yes it was!. I do have some questions on the 411. Were they just available in eastern Canada? Also were they assigned those funny 8 digit part numbers before the 1250 models came along? I also have some questions for Dsl. Now I also know more about the 700 as I have some service bulletins for them but never saw a picture of the tractor before. If you really want to get into it I also have some Perkins/580 questions. J.

I don't know about the part numbers Cockshutt used for the 411R, as I have no original Cockshutt parts books for them, but I would expect they were the original Fiat part numbers. Assigning new, corporately conformative part numbers to an entire catalog (without the aid of a computer and without repeating one single pre-existing number!) would be cruel and unusual punishment reserved for whatever unlucky soul the brass hated most at the time! It did come, though, and my stomach just churns at the thought...

Questions? Fire away, and I'll try to help. :)

The Fiat-built tractors would have been built for Oliver- not sure which, if any, were painted red and called Cockshutts. Things were getting pretty zany around that time, with all kinds of combinations of Moline, Oliver and Cockshutt badging. As far as the "real" Cockshutts, those were built from 1946 (or thereabouts) until 1962. Two digit models until 1957, 3 digit from '58 to '62. In Brantford, Ontario Canada.

The Fiat came to Canada as the Cockshutt 411 before the 1250 came to the USA. Also, yes they were red and there were more models in Canada than in the USA. The 700 is the first one that comes to mind.
