Oliver 62W Help Needed

I have a 62 W wire tie square baler that is giving me fits, and I cannot figure it out, so any help would be appreciated!

The baler can be working perfectly, then after baling 100 or 200 bales it will throw a fit and spit out broken bales. Most often when this happens I go back to the wite twisting mechanism and find that there is wire twisted around the rotating shaft that has the aluminum finger at the bottom. After cutting the twisted wire out it will bale about 25 bales and do it again. Both sides take turns in acting up this way. After cutting the wires out 3 or 4 times the baler is done for the day as every onther bale will be broken.
It seems like if the baler sits for a week or so, you can get another 200 bales through it before it starts acting up again. This is driving me crazy!

Any suggestions?

If I had a wire baler I could help I'm sure. Your problem sounds like my twine baler, I can do only so many before it starts hanging knots up and breaking bales. On my baler I think it's that the knot isn't being swept off the billhook far enough to get the "tails" of the knot clear.

I'm not familiar with the wire tie mechanism (I have a manual that includes it so I could look) I would wonder if your problem isn't in what clears the twist from the mechanism.
