Can anyone advise me where I could mount the sensor for a oil temperature gauge in an 1850 Oliver to monitor the hydraulic system. As near as I can determine, safe operating temperature for hydraulics is 122F to 176F.

I don't know how much diff there is between a 1850 and 1855 hydr system but on my 1855 there is a treaded boss on the leftside towards the front on the hydr reservoir right about the floor board, that has a sensor in it but no wires to it,so i don't know if it might be a pressure or temp sensor.

Maybe this helps.

Right now I need to think and there is too much going on here. Try this: Send your wife to Wallmart and have here get you a meat therometer. Pull the dipstick for the hydraulic and use the meat thermometer to probe the oil temperature.
