Oliver 500 3 point problem

i am having trouble with my 3 point working in cold weather below 30 degrees f it takes about an hour of running before the 3 point will work i would also like to know what oil goes in the transmission and is that the same oil the 3 point runs on any help on this would be appreciated much thank you.

The hydraulic screen must be gummed up with sludge. Get it out and wash it up if you keep running it that way you will burn up the hydraulic pump. I have manuals that will cover that tractor.

First I hope you have an oliver 550 because I'm not aware of an Oliver 500. However the Oliver 550 uses Oliver type 55 oil or a 10WT nondetergent oil in the hydralic system. If you have to heavy of an oil in the system It may take it longer to respond. It might be a very good idea to change the hydralic filter as well. The rear end transmission use 80-90WT oil in them too. Good Luck I hope this helps you. Shadetree.

David Brown also made the Oliver "600" tractor from 1962 into 1963.The information from anyone knowing about the Oliver "600" may also be helpfull.I don't know anything about the tractors myself.

Shadetree, the Oliver 500 was made for Oliver by David Brown from 1960 to 1963. They used Oliver decals, colors and grills.
