I need to put duals on this tractor with 3 7/8" inch axle size. I can get original hubs and mount a set of double bevel rims and tires or buy a new set of axle duals(10 bolt hubs) which is more money. Any opinions about the good and bad of either choice, or your experience with this.
I understand bolt on hubs would be easier to manage. Original wheel dish adds a slight bit more weight and not a lot of trouble if I never take them off.

Hello! We owned a 1978 model White 2-180 two-wheel drive from Sep. of 1979 until April of 1998. It was straight-up one of the finest machines ever built. We hated to see it go, but the farm was sold, and so down the road it went. We ran 20.8 X 38" tires with axle-mounted duals for all those years. Our "dual rims" were actually full, cast-iron wheel centers and lugs, the same as are used on a 2-105. They were HEAVY, but gave us a lot of extra traction. They used nine 5/8" bolts, and four 3/4" bolts. They mounted right up to the taper-lock dual hubs. If you need more weight, this is an option. Best wishes!
