We are hooked...we just happened to run across this Oliver diesel and it looked like a perfect first tractor project. The best thing is she runs like a champ! We've looked for serial numbers and there are many numbers cast in the housings and engine block but so far none stamped or on a plate. This one looked promising D 11 7 55. Most of the rest have letters and I don't see letters in the lists of serial numbers. we'll keep looking as we spruce her up but the colors are interesting too. green with white but underneath the green it looks like it was all yellow at one time. hmmm...in any case if anyone can help us figure out what we have that would be great. Links to pics below.. thx! Kristine and Dave

A 1954 Super 55 Diesel, one of the last ones made before the 1955 model year which started at 11-887 according to this website's info.
Also noticed that it has the desirable remote hydraulic valve installed.

Thanks for the response. I read the serial number the same way (ie late 1954) however I am confused about the number scheme. The number i gave (D 11 7 55) is cast in the engine block. That can"t be the serial number can it? Then I looked in the registry (on this site) and none of the super 55 sn"s were formatted the same way as the list of serial numbers (nn-nnnn). They are formatted nnnn-nnn. So I am confused. What am I missing? Thx - K.
