Actually ran a full tank through

I chopped hay with the 1855 on the 3000 yesterday and I actually managed to run a full tank through the tractor-

Now I'm wishing that I had the fender tanks hooked up but I don't have the second valve yet- Tesch Bros. only had one and they just got the other in 2 days ago. I think I coulda emptied them out just on all the chopping we're doing. did 35 acres of 4th crop yesterday, and only 5 more are out there that got rained on so I had to quit. Not much rain though so I can finish it up today after picking some more pumpkins.

Then I can put the corn head back on the Fox 3000 and continue chopping corn- already chopped 19 loads of that off and still got probably 25 or more to go. Most of it is atleast as tall as the fenders, but a good majority is above the canopy over my head... Good year for corn. The cobs could be a little bigger, but insurance isn't gonna kick anything out for it anyway (never do) so I'm not feeling like leaving any rows in the field for the crop adjuster. I still can though, don't have either field I opened up clear cut completly yet.

Now I gotta try & get about 2 more hours of sleep. The dogs woke me up because Gus had to go outside NOW, and Olivia was actin wierd, ate some grass and didn't do anything. $50 says she's gonna wake me up in about another hour to puke...

It was raining sat morning here in Pa. I saw an Amish couple binding corn in the rain. If I had to guess the silo was probably empty and they had to haul a load in so they could feed the cattle. If you havent ever seen someone binding corn its worth a watch. Looks like long hard work to me.

Just curious about your pumpkins up north. How many acres do you have and who are your buyers?

We planted a little over 2 acres and we sell to the public on my brother's front lawn. We also have a gal that's friends with our mom who is gonna come out today and buy a bunch for her store.

Had a guy stop by yesterday and offer to buy about 30 of our $3.00 pumpkins for $1.50 each so he could re-sell them. Told him no thanks. After all the work we did to get them this far, we're not dropping our prices that much. We're already the cheapest around with our big 30+lb. pumpkins selling for $7.00

Kinda thinking we planted a few too many though- we've got a crap load left out there and we haven't even started picking in our last patch yet. Did 2 truck loads today already, probably gonna get 1 more load.
