Tried to get my Father-in law's JD 4020 running today. I'll give you the short version of the story. It has set outside the last 2-3 months. It has a curved chrome straight pipe. The wind and rain must have been just right sometime. Water got down the pipe and straight into #1 cylinder. Rusted it enough that the back wheels scooted on the stone when we tried to pull start it. A little patience and diesel fuel got it loose. I got a diesel bath in the process. Anyhow, Beware if you have a curved pipe-water can still get down in them.

I bought an Oliver 66 one time. It had gotten water in a cylinder. They towed it and since the water wouldn't compress,it bent a rod. When it came back down, the piston dropped so low,the oil ring expanded below the sleeve. We had to cut the rod with a torch and break the piston out of it.
