What color should the lights on a 1947 60 be painted? Also what color on the axels?

I painted the lights green and the axles red. Looks good.

I want to say black. And that they were black on the fleetlines through....I think 1950. Sherry said something about when they went to green a while back on here, but my memory ain't what it used to be.

From some of the undisturbed ones I've seen the lights were Black and the axles also Black. Either way it makes a nice contrast from a solid green. Some of the lights had "chrome" or bright retainer rings and others I"ve seen were black. Both look good but as far as what was "factory" for both. It may indeed have been what paint was handy for the day.

I had one. Before and after repainting all green. As far as factory paint I think it depended on who was spraying paint that day and what color they needed to get rid of.
