I'm amazed nobody has mentioned the Oliver Corporate tractors in the new HPOCA magazine yet. I'd give my left one for one of those 4 cylinder models. SWEET. They'd make a great replacement for a 1555-1655 wouldn't they? But instead,we got the White 2-70. You have to admit, the big shots at White were experts at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!

Whats bad about the 2-70? Its a silver 1655, and I see no fault in that. I guess for me being a younger person, the White tractor is what I grew up around, and frankly....I kinda like that silver paint job. Sure, they fade bad and are typically thinly painted, but its a neat looking tractor, and they are just as good as the Olivers....just updated. As for that article, I better read it---i got mine....its gonna be neat to read!

When did you get your magazine? I haven't seen it yet, now you've got me curious about the "coporate tractor". I don't think there is anything wrong with a 2-70 except maybe they are kind of ugly, just a 1655 with different skin.

I'm not saying that the 2-70 was a bad tractor, just that it was a continuation of an old idea. Those new prototypes were so far advanced, they make anything coming out today look like old technology. It was just foolish to throw that new design out and keep on with what they had.
