A few years ago,Agco was hyping these Valtra tractors. Said they were building the best dealer network in the history of the free or oppressed worlds, etc. A dealer close to us here in Michigan took them on,had some on the lot,Thunb Harvestor was advertising them too. All of a sudden they were gone. Gone from the dealers lot, from the advertising of both dealers,no more talk of them in magazines, just gone without a trace. Anybody know what happened to them? I had about convinced myself that I should have one. Guess it's a good thing I dragged my feet.

The Valtra plant in Scandinavia is building MF colored tractors for US markets. Since Agco bought Valtra, alot of big MF uses the Valtra engines and components.

I"ve heard Agco will be dropping the name "WHITE" off the planters.
Our closest Agco dealer which was a longtime Allis dealer recently dropped the Massey line altogether and has picked up New Holland. Kinda funny to see brand new Orange and Blue tractors on the same lot. I kinda expect to see the orange go away sometime in the future at this dealership.

Many Agco based dealers, both ex White or Allis in this area focus heavier on their New Holland tractors now(that were shortline NH). I think Agco is irking(stronger word required) alot of them so their jumping ship. Both "local" White dealers hopped ship--one went New Holland and the other is Kubota--sad. Yeah, I saw a New "Agco planter on a lot yesterday....now White it completely dead. So sad...

I had heard the rumor about White disappearing from the planters too. Yesterday while at the Farm Progress Show I confronted one of the AGCO people about this. There was a new planter in the display and although it did say AGCO on the hitch, the boxes all still carried the name WHITE. They also told me that they would NOT be dropping the White name from the planters. The planter could be sold as a Massey planter but it would still have the name WHITE on the boxes. They felt that the name was too important to be completely removed. Thus WHITE will be sticking around for a while.
