Is that guy from Ohio on the photo sales page serious about the prices he"s asking for his Oliver high-crop tractors?

To be honest, that's getting to the point where a guy ponders cloning one. I know a few good casting and gear shops that could make it so no one could tell if it was real or not. Overcome the serial tag issue and bam - early retirement here I come. Too bad it is unethical!

I see what you are saying. There"s a guy from florida in the photo ad section who has a super 77 hi-crop for $42,500 and a 88 orchard diesel for $42,500. I don"t know what he was thinking, but the 88 orchard was not a "super rare" tractor. I have seen numerous 88 orhcards at shows in several states. I will be curious to see if someone actually buys them.

To those of you that feel that kind of money is to much for the Orchard tractor. When was the last time you did a ground up restoration on a full dress orchard tractor. They are not cheap to do. A run of the mill full dressed orchard tractor sheetmetal repair and prep for paint can run 2-3000, paint work 8-900 or more, and then you buy tires, rebuid a motor. A complete restoration is in the 15000 to 18000, and, o-ya, you have to find one, pay for it, and truck it home. Anybody find's one for 10-15000 completly done, email me. Thanks for listening to me whine. Tractor Repair and Restorations

Look, I'm not trying to start an argument with you, but I have seen several Orchard 88's as well as one or two for sale. All I'm saying is there is no excuse for that particular model to be worth that much money, or an asking price that high. A more reasonable price would be $10,000 to $15,000.

I saw high crops sell in arizona from $9,000 to $30,000 NON RUNNING. If you look from that point he is not out of line.

Oh,I don't know. The 88,770 and 880 are nicely restored rare tractors. !550 needs restoring, but then it's not overly high priced at $12,000.
