Here's the newest addition.'68(according to ser#)1950-T.Bought from a great fella in West Central MN.

Was looking for a big enough tractor to put a Massey 750 Perkins in & this fit the bill. The original 310 Turbo has holes in block and pan.

WOW was this thing heavy!Fuel and fender tanks are full also.It was slow goin',but made it home last night at 10:30.Anyone know off hand what these weigh?

Model # is 399-22274 and ser # is 201944-603.Can anything else be known from these numbers? Thanks guys ~brad

Just weighed my T last week. It has minimal fluid in 18.4 38s, has a ROPS, empty fender fuel tanks, two-thirds of a main tank, 4 150 pound wheel weights on the rear and the two stacked weights plus two slab weights on the front and it weighed in at 12,250#.

Let me add that I think its just short of criminal activity to put anything but the 310 turbo in this tractor. There are ways to make that engine (provided you get a new block) reliable. I went totally through mine (has 4000 hours on it) and did the normal upgrades but also balanced the complete rotating assembly and revamped the lubrication system reliefs so that I now have 45 psi at idle with the engine at operating temperature. Just a couple days ago I posted a new photo of my T in the photo gallery. Hope you decide to keep yours "original". Thanks

Mine may be heavier than most at 17,700 pounds. It has front and rear factory weights. It also has fluid front and rear. It"s a FWA.

The 399 means it was made in the second run of three 1950-T runs. Must have been early in the second run as it still has two air intakes forward and aft. A distinctive feature exclusive to the 1950-T.

Economically it may not make sense but it"s a shame not to put a 310 back in it.

3-71 Fan,Thanks for the info.

So did the intake stacks change position or go to the 1955 style with one stack for the final run? I've seen 1950-T's with two pre-cleaners(clear plastic style) one ahead of the other before.

I will keep everything in case I want to put a 310 back in her some day.

I got to lookin' at the engine today, and it appears to have had some recent work done.Looks like a reman.(blue) head, and new gaskets all over.Makes one wonder what went wrong. ~brad

J.meyer,it came from Willmar.330 mile 'round trip X2.Got alot of miles in on this one.Went to look at it before buying.

I shoulda taken the trailer along to start with, but I always think of the 1655 I looked at a few years back in Big Lake MN.

Guy said it was in good cond.WRONG! No paint anywhere,3-speed slipped, clutch shot, tires shot, plus the engine was warmed up b4 I got there.Hiding something?I asked him specifically not to run it that day."Huh,my son musta had to move it".Still wanted 4 grand for it.Smoke another one pal!!

Anyway..... ....Did ya sell your 1650 yet? ~brad

That was enough miles on that trip--we had about the same to Villard on the 145 that time. Interesting story on that 1655--pry a good one to stay away from. My 1650 sold fairly local, and I got my asking price out of it. The guy is going to add it to his collection, so it should be in a good home. My 2-105 has been working good so far, just trying to nip up a couple odds and ends on it here. I dont miss the 1650 too much, cause that 105 is so much nicer. Hope that T project goes good!

A 1950T IS A RARE BEAST, AND THE 354 CHARGE COOLED PERKINS IS JUST THE ENGINE TO GO IN IT.
I HAVE A 1850 AND WOULD LOVE TO ADD ONE 1950T TO MY MACHINE SHED. WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO SELL THE ENTIRE PROJET? 1950T,1850 TUB, AND 354 ENGINE AND PARTS.
THANKS FOR YOUR TIME, AND IF NOT INTERESTED. GOOD LUCK.

Brad, What motor do you want to put in the OLIVER '1950T'? Did you say the motor from a Massey Ferguson '750' combine? Why not another 310--Turbo? Your the one always "saying" it would be 'crazy',to change a tractor from its 'past' Like converting to a 'tractor-puller'. I'm speaking of stock antique class...No major changes....Only changes like weight brackets, wheelie bars and add a little smoke and wheel speed..... ....

Well,first of all,I don't have another 310 turbo.I do,however have a 354 Perkins(MF750) and an 1850 diesel front tub.

Nothing against a 310,but the Perkins had a better track record for reliabilty.I'm not a puller, just a farmer so it will be for farm use.

Being the original engine is shelled, the transplant makes for a logical and economical decision.Heck,I have everything to do it on hand.

I don't recall always saying "it would be crazy" to modify old tractors for pulling, but I did tell GMMAN a few days ago that anyone would be a fool to modify a rare bird with a high resale value such as the Super99GM or 990 or especially a MF98.

Have a good one ~brad

I would say it makes economic good sense, with all your spare parts, you would have gone into this project with a 'plan'. Like to see pics. when your done. Just wondering if you'll paint the motor Massey silver? Like the guy with his Massey 98 in a posting from today? Just a thought...

If it's got fluid in the tires, I'd guess somewhere between 12&14,000 with the fenders being full.

I have a slip that says our 1855 was 12,400 before I added weights to the fornt and the ROPs w/ canopy. I did have fluid in the tires though. With the fornt loaded with weights and the canopy, it's at 13,300. I'm adding fender tanks to it now and I'll put it back on the scales if I ever fill them up. I figure the extra 78 gallons of fuel and the weight of the fenders (they're pretty heavy) should easily push it up over 14,000.

That"s a ROPs off a 2-85 white. If I can find another one to mount on the 1755, I"d scoop it up in a heartbeat. I got this one pretty cheap, even if it"s not an actual Oliver canopy. Really helps on a hot summer day to keep from baking your brain in the sun.

That tool box WAS red about 2 months prior to thst, but it just has really cheap paint on it and it faded extremely fast. Doesn"t help that the 18 is too big to fit in our shed...
