I have a Co-Op E4 that does not have a PTO. I haven't pulled off the rear cover of the differential to see if the shaft is there to drive the PTO. Is this shaft there when the tractor is delivered without a PTO? Is the PTO clutch assembly available anywhere from parted out tractors?

I've gone through an Oliver 77 and I expect the system is pretty similar but on my 77, all parts were there.

Also, I'd like a better radiator cover and grill.

Thanks,

The shaft may or may not be there, of course if you pull one of the covers you will be able to see. Do you have a t handle just to the right of shifting lever if so chances are real good the shaft is there. if not its about 50/50. I have all these parts but am in western pa so shipping can get high because of odd sizes and heavy weight. email me if you want more info. Irv

I have a Cockshutt 30 that has no PTO. The plate on the rear of the differental is a flat blank with no hole for a shaft, but last winter I had the engine out to replace bearings and seals and to check the clutch. The shaft was there splined into a hub on the pressure plate.I think all you would have to do is install the rear unit.

Well first of all there is quite a bit of difference on how the PTO's are set up on a Cockshutt 30 & a model 40. The 30 is kind of like a Super 55/550 with the way power is transmitted. Remember the 30 is a Timken transmission and final drive and the 40 is a Cockshutt design so there are differences.. The 40 has more in common with how the power is transmitted to the back with a rowcrop Oliver. Confused? I have an idea somebody pulled the 40 and took the weight off to get down in a lighter class.
