I got my starter back from the repair shop after 3 months on waiting on parts. the bendix drive is not on right and they told me that they didn't think they had it on right and cant remember how it goes since it was and odd one to them. Can any body send a pic in the order that the 5-9 pices go in? I need help, our show is in 3 weeks!

Most likely your tractor has the Auto-Lite Starter. Later tractors had a Delco starter. On the Auto-Lite the bexdix is the kek part. I sent you an e-mail as well.

Well, I might as well confuse things more...
Fel-Pro sez HG and HG31 came with Herc IXA or IXK3;
Raybestos sez H and HG came with Herc IXA3 and HG-68 came with Herc LXA3;
Gates sez H 36-48 had IXA3; HG 39-42 had IXK3, omits mtr for 46-50;
Dayco sez H had IXA3, HG, HG31, HG42, HG68 had IXK3;
Fed-Mog sez HG 39-49 had either IXA or IXK3;
Fitzgerald sez HG and HG31 had IXA;
Someone please stop me before I buy another catalog!! Seriously, Good luck.
PS: Old: the IXB3 was in the OC-3.

Bud: You need a break from looking at all those books and/or maybe like some of the old Oliver parts bulletins told you to make the necessary correction to your book . The HG started with the IXA (3.00 bore) Not many made that way. Replaced by IXK (3.125 bore) Later ones from early 1950 till the start of the OC-3 had the IXB engine which was used till the end of the 4 cylinder gas models)J.

I know you mean well and so do I, but stop and think there are probably 15 to 20 Cletrac gas starters, so how about model of the Cletrac, Manufacture of the starter and a starter model number if you have it. Thanks. J.
