My 2-180 had an oil leak on the front drive axle. I pulled out the axle and went to buy a seal. Tha AGCO dealer told me the seal was just a few bucks shy of $300!! My breathing got tight and my heart must have stopped for 10-20 minutes. When I came to, the partsman said it happens all the time on these front drive axles, all brands. What gives, why does this have to cost so much? Is there another place I can look?

If you have the old seal number, Napa may be able to cross-reference it to a Chicago Rawhide seal. Hal

My first try is the local bearing house, like Motion Ind. Unless it's something real Odd.

I have a large book at work that is a seal and bearing company. Bought a few things from them and they seem to have alot of odd size stuff as well. I'll check it monday and post the name and number for you.

however any good bearing shop should be able to get you one and it would have to be a really odd size for it to cost that much.
