Forgot to mention that if you have not checked the valve recession, do so. Most likely it is way out of spec and now is the time to fix it to help improve starting. Questions?

I take it you are refering to the cylinder head. I have my scaner packed already for next week and I would need to send that throught normal e-mail anyway. What happen to the rule of: "When in doubt start in the center and work out" (in a circular fashion). Also torque the head in four steps, make the difference for each step a little less. Torque it to minimum value, start the engine, warm it up to operating temp, let it run for a 1/2 hour. Retorque to maximum valve. Also when you put the head bolts in, put a light drop of oil on the underside of the head on the head bolts. Make sure you cleaned all the threads in the block and the head bolts. Use a little sealant such as teflon paste on the threads of the oil screw and remember the torque value for it is 100 pound feet. Questions? J.
