I have a Co-op E-3 that always rolled over slowly with the 6 volt battery even when fully charged. I put in an Optima and the cranking speed was much faster. They are expensive but worth every penny.

You could always go with an 8 volt battery. That"s what I had to do with my HP 70. Even the high cold cranking amp Interstate was not enough. If you go with an 8 volt I would get an 8volt battery charger and charge it every now and then. the old 6volt system won"t quite keep it charged enough. If you have cut out instead of a regulator and it has the high charge position then usually you"re o.k. then. As long as I run my 70 on the high charge I don"t seem to have a problem. If you have any questions I"d be more than willing to help.

Interstate makes a 650cca that works good on some of my old olivers. The key to a succesful 6v system is high quality large dia. batt. cables.
