OK realy need some help. Have a change to buy a old olver manure spreaker with steel wheels and wood box in fair shape. sides need replaced but bottom and metal all there. This is forsale from the son of the original owner. The son is in his late 60 so this is a old one. He wants me to make a offer and I have not idea what is fair. has been sitting in a barn for 20 years. Any ideas?

It works, like I said no paint left. wood on sides are real "light" due to age. ground driven, worked when parked 20 years ago. everything seems to function.

Thanks

There's no "hidden value" here. It's not like you can turn around and sell it and make a fortune. Offer him what it is worth to you. If you can use it and it's better than shoveling manure by hand offer him just that. If it's gonna just sit in a fencerow on your back forty offer him just that. If it's to be a yard ornament offer him that. Those steel wheel spreaders don't carry much value around here - no matter the brand. In that shape anything over $100 wouldn't interest me.
