I"m looking into the old crawlers with a blade or loader. I want to be able to do some lite dozer work in mostly sand. Should I be looking for a dozer or will a loader work okay? What should I be looking at on these machines and where can new parts for the under carrage be bought at?

Thanks
Brian

All depends on what you plan to be doing. Dozers work well for some things and loaders for others. If you ever watch at road jobs they have both on the job.

Most likely I'd want a dozer. I have a loader for my tractor. Just depends on what I can find. Either one should be able to do some digging to move some dirt.

Where is a good place to look at parts? I like to have some idea what parts will cost to repair something before I start looking to buy.

Again all depends on what brand machine you are looking for/at. Cletrac which is Oliver can be a little harder to find parts for then some of the others but they are also some of the smallest ones around. Zimmermans has a good number of parts for them. I have an HG with a oliver 60 engine in it and its a fun little machine to play with and do some work with
