I have found yet another oliver wagon. It has the 5026-A running gear and the 5170 gravity box. However, it has a broken spindle. It is the front right spindle. Can anyone help me locate another spindle? The wagon is for sale if anyone is interested. It can be bought "as is" or in fixed condition. The bed is in average shape. The gear does have nice tires and is very straight, except for the spindle. Let me know if anyone can help me locate one. I am located in Souther Illinois. Thanks

Might be easier to take it to a machine shop and have them make a new one.

I used to work at a shop that did that type of repair and I made a couple for the fronts that are bent at a 90. A good hydraulic press will take care of that, and then the steering arm just needs to be carefully torched off the old one and re-welded onto the new one.

I've done many more rear spindles, but the fronts really aren't too bad to make. I'd say about 2-3 hours labor, maybe more if the bend is being difficult to get.

Electric made the running gears for Oliver, as well as several other companies. I think Allis Chalmers and David Bradly are some of the others. We've got 1 Oliver runnning gear w/ 5 bolt rims, and I just picked up an Electric running gear with 6 bolt rims. Just a little bit heavier, otherwise the construction is about the same.

I am located in Southern Illinois. Patoka to be exact (zip code 62875). That is 13 miles south of Vandalia and 27 miles north of Mt. Vernon. Are you interested in the wagon? If I sale it I would like to move it before wheat harvest so that I can purchase another wagon. Oliver wagons were made by the Electric wheel company, Quincy, IL. This is the 3rd one that I have owned. However, those 3 are the only 3 that I have ever seen.

Thanks Shaun Murray
