We are working on an Oliver 60 that has an alumninum (?) hood and side curtins. Did they come this way from the factory or are they after market? Also does anyone have a set that they are intrested in selling?

Thanks Mike

Hey Mike - greetings. During the war, when steel was scarce and needed for tanks etc., many tractor manufacturers produced machines with aluminum hoods, grills etc.

Aluminum isn't great for the application because it will work harden and then crack. You don't see too many aluminum skinned machines because folks replaced the hoods when the originals cracked.

Regards, Tip

Some Oliver 60s and 70s came from the factory with aluminum hoods, don/t know how many.
