Hey guys

I have a 1755 diesel that I just bought and the clutch is acting funny right now. If I push it all the way to the floor then it begins to engage the clutch and i cant get it into or out of gear. It begins to disengage at about 1/2 way off the floor and engages at the top like normal. Is this a 2 stage clutch or a hydraulic clutch or something or should I just sell it... I dont want to have to replace the clutch on this one ;(

Thanks in advance for any info or ideas.

Just a manual single stage in these.I wouldn"t get rid of it just because of a bad clutch.

These come apart pretty easy.Just pull the engine forward and turn sideways to rest engine on frame.A service manual will be helpful. You should find something obvious once apart.

By the way,how much toe clearance do you have? ~brad

You might want to take off the clutch inspection plate on top and try to look inside to see if your release bearing guide tube has come loose from the front of the Over/Under. I just found that on mine when it was acting strangely (didn't want to release fully causing some drag which translates to difficult shifting). The release bearing tube is cheap but getting to it takes some time and effort. I had my dealer install the new tube and replace some front seals and bearings in the over/under while I had it out of the tractor. Cost me a little over $200 but it should be done right. While I was at it I also upgraded to a 13 inch clutch since I had a really good used cover and clutch disk on hand (had them as spares for my 1950-T). I remachined the flywheel to adapt the 13 inch clutch. I do have a spare 13" flywheel and a cover assembly that could be used as a core for rebuild if you wanted to have a clutch in your 1755 that should last forever.
