Just realized that I have not used my Oliver 2255 for any heavy field work until today. Pulled a 14 foot chisel plow and a 16 culti-mulcher in one pass. Seemed like everything was going real good in 3rd high until my mother stopped to talk to me. I accidently put it in 6th low and the beast of a tractor took off with just a slight grunt. We had this one turned up to 210 hp and now I am a believer. Always had one of my boys or a hired man run it before. Unbelievable power!

It all depends on what you expect , but remember this one thing, if you over power your tractor it simply will not last as long. I can show you the difference in old tractors just come by...you can pick everyone that is fueled and turboed etc. , many of us have done it to get by , bottom line it will cost you eventually

Does that mean you're gonna get done in 1/2 the time? Unless I spot a hay field deserving of the plow, we've been done planting for a little while now. Just gotta get the couple pumpkins in yet that ym brother and I sell, the the corn and oats are all in.

The 1600 did a fine job too.
