Hi, my dad recently bought a Cockshutt 2255...and living out in the middle of no where, he lacks access to a computer so he has asked me to do some research for him. I was wondering if anyone could tell me a)What kind of engine oil should be used?
b)What kind of hydraulic oil/fluid should be used?
c)What kind of transmission fluid should be used?
d)What year this model was made in?

and also if there are any other things I could find out from him about it to ensure that I order the right manual...is the model number enough?

THANKS SO MUCH!!

For normal operation you should use 15W-40 diesel oil in the engine, White universal hydraulic oil in the over/under, Type 55 Hydraulic oil for the hydraulics (Type 55 is thinner than regular hydraulic oil), and 80W-90 in the rear end.

In our 2255 oliver we run 15w40 in the engine, type F automatic transmission fluid in the powershift, IH hytran in the hydraulic system and 80w90 in the rear end and planetaries. Keep radiator clean they do not cool the best in the heat, keep an eye on the rear end oil, ours leaks a little around the lower draft links, two allen wrench plugs by the pto to check the level ,its been a good tractor for us but it had a factory reman engine in it, they are suppose to be better than the originals. If you start loosing hyd oil, it probably will be in the rear end, there are o-rings that start to leak in the pto that let hyd oil into rear end, pto needs to be pulled to fix. just my .02.
