i am getting closer to getting started. we are going to put 6354 perkins in an oliver. i have found and 1850 w/o engine. i know that i will need the tub flywheel, exhaust manifold, oil pan, timing cover, water pump, bell housing. are there any other major parts that i will need to repower 1850 w/ a perkins? Also how do i tell if my perkins (out of combine) is a dot 1 or dot 4? I have read it is easier to do a dot 1????? Is it easier w/ 2 or 3 speed? Thanks for any help at all.

Depending on which engine you have you may not need a new waterpump. On the one we did we just added perkins made extender to the combine pump and it worked fine. The combine fan was not on the pump so the bolts holes had to be cleaned out. We allso used the same manifold, not perfect looking but not bad.

When I changed mine, the ONLY things I could use from the combine were the block, head, crank, rods, pistons, valve train parts, injectors and injector pump,oh yea and one side cover. You'll have to have the Oliver tractor timing cover for your front motor mount to slide over. That motor mount has a rubber mount inside of it.The injector lines have to be from the tractor for the throttle linkage to fit.
