I am wondering if i need to adjust the governor on my 66. just got it running after sitting outside for 10-15?? years. the throttle lever has very little tension until half way through. I have an all or nothing throttle. I do not have a manual for this machine yet. can i adjust this easily or do i need a manual. any help would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't seem too likely that the weights would be stuck. There is a brass washer behind the governor gear that goes bad sometimes,of course you don't know if it was right when it was parked. If you need that washer,it's available from Agco. You'll have to pull the air cleaner to do either, but I'd pull that gov off, just 4 bolts holding it on,then CAREFULLY pull it straight ahead. If everything is OK in there, the spring in the throttle linkage should have 19 coils between the 2 keepers in the inside of it. Unhook the rod that goes from the lever on the side of the gov at the lever. Pull the throttle lever on the steering column all the way down, wide open. Push the linkage to the carb all the way back so the butterfly in the carb is wide open. Now that rod should be ahead of going back in the hole by about 1/3 the width of the rod (toward the radiator). If not, loosten the lock nut at the carb end of it and adjust the turnbuckle until it is. Should get you in business.
